Hello Planet earth, welcome to the Blog of movies and games reviews that will update you and let you aware of the pros and cons of the latest industry releases in a huge delay.

Enough talking already, let's get started with the oldie but goodie friendly neighborhood, Spider Man, more precisely the not so amazing last movie released last year.

The Amazing Spider Man Review

 CONS

First of all, I would like to say that I got really disappointed when I saw the result of The Amazing Spider Man on the theaters, I was expecting a movie with a more appealing and mysterious approach, with a well made plot and a narrative at least as good as that from the first movie. It turns out that it didn't happen. The movie screwed up with most of the essence of the spider man character and the message that he should share with the younger audience. To begin with, how many nerds do you know that ride a skateboard? And, why the heck his uncle couldn't say with this very words: ''With great powers come great responsibilities'', I mean he said that in a much more long way, it would be much easier if he had memorized that sentence (and this is a really big issue for the franchise). Long story short, the beginning of the movie was a failed attempt to recreate a character that we already know and love. The development of the hero was a lame, several points that shouldn't be changed were messed up: Uncle Ben's death was too casual and at the same time too boring, Peter tireless pursuit for the guy who killed his uncle was very weird and also boring (he didn't get his uncles message), the way he arrived at home with his face torn apart and his aunt May doing nothing about it but getting worried, I mean her nephew was seeming to be on crack. All that really annoys me until now (as I'm a huge fan of the web head) but I guess that some of those mistakes (a few actually) could be erased or clarified in the next movie.

PROS

Let me just correct myself in some issues, first of all, the script of this movie was clearer more thought than the first movie, and here it goes why: This movie was clearer made with the assumption of a second one on the horizon, the story is very dependent of a sequel, nothing was really told about peter's parents, just the fact that his father worked with Dr. Connors at Oscorp, what you could have deduced (actually was explicitly stated on the trailers) from the trailer, their death are still a mystery (Spoiler Alert: Norman Osborn might be involved) but the untold story that was the slogan of this movie was pretty much still untold. So, the first movie was pretty much a tease for you to go see the second one (meanwhile the first 3 spider man were independent from each other and their plot just got worse with each sequel), see how Gwen Stacy will die (Yes she gonna die Muahahah!), who will play MJ Watson and what's the big mystery about Mr and Mrs Parker death.
To be honest some stuff  worked super well in that movie, like the Lizard, to me he is the best spidey enemy so far. Doc. Curtis Connors is this very ethical scientist who wishes to regenerate his right arm (I guess it's right, right?) but he sees himself pushed to try the serum with lizard DNA in himself (already programed with a ''reliable'' decay algorithm thanks to peter's father) since his contract with Oscorp was shut down for dead line issues. He did it for a good purpose actually, once the bad Indian guy from Oscorp (the one nobody cares knowing the name) was about to try the Serum at the Veteran Hospital. So, despite the absurd character development for the web swinger I could say that the Lizard almost save the day (You can say it's a cliche enemy but he was sticked to the comic character and that is a big deal for me), and the second movie can almost save the entire franchise if and only if they don't come up with any stupid plot twist like in Iron Man 3 (our next review btw).
See you losers!

Human trials next week already?! Ok, maybe not so ethical.

So my score to this movie would be (from 0 to 10. Brazilian old school grade system):

Script: 8.0 (good)
Direction: 6,0 (under the average)
Average role play: 7,0 (already expected from not so good actors)
Visual effects and action scenes: 8,5 (yes it does matter!)
Soundtrack: 9,0 (special attention for the Ganali device theme, beautiful)

Overall score: 7,72 (It's worth watching to get tease for the sequel)
